Privacy and cookies

This site is a few pages and a contact form. Here is everything it does with data, in the order you are likely to meet it.

Who we are

CodeBldr, a software studio in Sibiu, Romania. Write to contact@codebldr.com about anything on this page, including a request to delete something we hold.

Measurement

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get opened. It is how we find out whether writing any of this was worth the time.

Nothing is written to your device until you accept the bar at the bottom of the page. Before that, and if you refuse, Google receives the visit without anything that identifies you or your browser between one visit and the next. Advertising features are switched off and stay off; we do not advertise, and we do not build profiles.

If you accept, Google Analytics stores cookies that let it tell a returning visitor from a new one. You can change your mind at any time with the link at the foot of the page, and clearing your browser's data for this site removes what was stored.

The contact form

What you type in the form is sent to us as an email, through the Brevo mail relay, and lands in the CodeBldr inbox. We use your address to reply to you. It does not go on a mailing list, and we do not pass it to anyone.

The form keeps two things briefly in your session to stop automated submissions: the moment the form was drawn, and the address the message came from. Both are gone when the session ends.

What the server keeps

The web server writes an access log, as web servers do: the address of the request, the page asked for, the time, and the browser's own description of itself. Those logs are kept on our own machine and are used for finding faults and abuse.

Where things are

The site runs on a server in Amsterdam. Email passes through Brevo. Analytics data goes to Google. We do not send your data anywhere else.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how we use it. One email to contact@codebldr.com is enough, and you do not have to explain why. If you think we have handled something badly you can complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP.

Contact

Tell us what you are building.

Describe the problem and that is enough to start with. The reply comes from the person who would do the work.

We use your address to reply to you and for nothing else. It does not go on a mailing list and we do not pass it to anybody.
